What is it?

Ion exchange resin process covers a wide range of applications. At Puretech Environmental we primarily use it to implement recycling system or to specifically remove some contaminant out of the effluent.

We can implement ion exchange resin for recycling system within several type of manufacturing activities :

  • Chromic and sulphuric anodising for the automotive or aerospace industries
  • Nickel, tin, silver and gold plating for the connector industry
  • Zinc, chromium & Zinc-Nickel plating for the automotive industry

Not only recycling system enables the reduction of environmental footprint by lowering the water consumption, it also enables greater treatment yield on the regenerant and very importantly for those clients under NADCAP or other stringent specifications, it maintains a rinse quality in the rinse tank itself below 1µS/cm.

Recycling on Ion exchange resin

We can also use this wonderful tool for the specific removal of elements as final polishing, even in the presence of complexed metals :

  • Bivalents metals  such as Nickel, Copper, Zinc
  • Mercury (from incinerator effluent)
  • Tin or cadmium (prior to recycling system entry)
  • Fluoride (where stringent limits have to be achieved)

We have also developed a specific ion exchange process for those who have a specific challenge with sulphates.
